Peter qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986. He joined Mercer & Hole in 1988 as an audit manager following time working in London with both MacIntyre Hudson and PD Leake & Co. He became a partner in the firm in 1990.
With the worsening economic climate towards the end of the 1980s Peter became involved with Corporate Recovery work before eventually specialising in Insolvency related work in the early 1990s. He then went on to obtain his Insolvency Practitioners’ Licence in 1997. Peter is based in the Milton Keynes and Northampton offices.
Peter’s work covers all areas of corporate and personal insolvency. On the corporate side he regularly advises directors of ailing companies, considering options for restructuring and turnaround where possible, failing which he advises directors on the best way to deal with their responsibilities by placing the company into Administration or Liquidation. Where Directors face disqualification proceedings he advises them on the defenses available to them. He has also been involved with many solvent liquidations.
Peter also has over the years been instructed in a large number of personal matters. These have involved advising debtors on avoiding bankruptcy, through the use of either Individual Voluntary Arrangements or informal agreements with creditors. He frequently is appointed as Trustee in Bankruptcy to individuals and has dealt with a number of complex bankruptcies requiring investigation and tracing of assets.
Married with three young children, Peter is also a keen tennis player and an occasional golfer in his spare time.
